Through the Public Contribution Roadmap, Astra contributes to community development and environmental conservation. The Astra Green Company (AGC) and Astra Friendly Company (AFC) cover the policies, targets and implementation procedures to fullfil both community development and environmental conservation.
Astra Green Company (AGC) incorporates Astra’s commitment to environmental, health and safety management while Astra Friendly Company (AFC) outlines the direction of Astra’s strategy and implementation to be responsible to all stakeholders through the 4 pillars of sustainable corporate social responsibility: Education, Environment, Health and Entrepreneurship.
PT Tjahja Sakti Motor educates the nation through the Astra Berbagi Ilmu (ABI) program. This program allows employees to visit schools that are located near the company’s location and share knowledge regarding automotive business processes and technology to the students. Moreover, employees also share their work life experiences to prepare students’ mentality to face the real workplace in the future.
In running its business, Astra concerns about production process and operations that are environmentally friendly. The company puts close attention in controlling and minimising consumption of energy, water and use of other natural resources. Therefore, Astra continuously improves the use of materials, natural resources, energy and waste management to be more efficient and optimal.
In addition, Astra commits to become an environmentally friendly company by reducing the negative impacts caused by work to the environment and creating added value for all stakeholders. Astra believes that a company needs to build a good relationship with the society and environment to operate a business sustainably.
To support the environmental aspect of the CSR program, PT Tjahja Sakti Motor contributes to tree planting as a form of sustaining the green program to create a comfortable and healthy environment. The company donates trees consistently every year to create environmental awareness to all stakeholders.
As a company with a large amount of manpower, Astra cares about improving the health of Indonesian citizens and understands that public health is vital. To boost the health of Indonesia citizens, Astra implements several health programs.
In order to encourage the health program, PT Tjahja Sakti Motor holds a blood donor program that will be donated to Palang Merah Indonesia. This blood donor program motivates employees to adopt a healthy and positive lifestyle as well as become a benefit to those in need. The company consistently conducts the blood donor program every year and sets a target for all employees to take part in the program.
Astra concerns about community empowerment around the community. PT Tjahja Sakti Motor organises entrepreneurship program to improve the welfare of the surrounding community. The company’s program support people at the surrounding community to build and develop a business. The company guides the community to produce traditional Indonesian chips and teaches the community sales strategy to enter the market.
